Some days you get lucky.
Backing up is always a problem.
I have addressed this in Linux Backup.
I have recently discovered a partition back up program.
Originally developed in new Zealand the code has been purchased by Symantec.
While designed as a Windows NT utility it works with Windows 95/98 and Linux.
The restore code (605kb) fits on a single floppy.
At this writting I have not attempted a network restore of a Linux or Win95 partition.
I have backed up and restored my Windows 95 partition to a local hard drive.
This partition is the first partition on my first hard drive.
Therefore it contains the master boot record (MBR).
Using Ghost the restored image restored the MBR which allows dual booting (Win95 / Linux) of this system.
I am awaiting delivery of non-trialware code to test its ability to backup a Linux partition.
